Unlike a conventional receipt, yours is alive. When the project reaches a milestone, your receipt is automatically updated with this information. You see what happens with your donation — from receipt to impact.

A donation is more than a flow of money. It is a promise: that something concrete happens. With the proof of impact, we make that promise redeemable.
As soon as the nonprofit documents a milestone — with a photo, report, or receipt — the documentation is independently verified and added to your donation certificate. Where available, we automatically read geo-data (EXIF) from images — so every impact can be located spatially.

- Do I need technical knowledge?
- No. The technology runs in the background. You use ChaCha like any normal website — no technical knowledge required.
- Who verifies the nonprofit organisations?
- We verify every organisation before admission — including their tax exemption certificate (DE) or equivalent documentation (AT/CH).
- What happens if a milestone is not reached?
- The funds remain in escrow. Donors are informed. The specific procedure will be published transparently once we have finalised it.
- Do I get a donation receipt?
- Yes, once the platform is live and you donate to an organisation with a valid exemption certificate. The organisation issues the confirmation; ChaCha prepares it.
- How does the donation receipt differ from the proof of impact?
- The donation receipt confirms: your donation has been received. The proof of impact confirms: the project has achieved what it promised.
- Can I donate anonymously?
- Yes, up to a legal threshold. Above that, we require identification — GDPR and anti-money-laundering law require this.
- Where can I see what happens with my donation?
- In your donation account, at any time. Plus updates by newsletter, if you wish.
- Is ChaCha's code publicly viewable?
- We are opening up step by step: APIs and SDKs for partners and developers are available. Platform infrastructure will follow.
