The problem
Why fees would otherwise come out of the donation
Payment processing and digital infrastructure cost money. On typical donation routes, that is often deducted from the donation. At ChaCha it is not.

What changes when new supporters join?
With 50 supporters (€5 a month each), the payment costs of 277 more donations a month would be covered, by our calculation.
How we calculate
Projection from the real numbers of the last 30 days, not a promise. Only payment costs are included, not network or platform costs. The reserve equals the estimated costs of the next 50 donations. Once it is reached, you can choose when you donate: wait until new supporters cover the costs, or cover the costs yourself.
Estimate based on the pool bookings: the pool exists to bear the payment costs of donations. The current amount would cover about 18230 more donations if only these costs are covered (on average EUR 0.90 per donation, last 30 days). Network and platform costs are not included.
The average per donation is rounded to 10 cents because only a few donations underlie it.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a donation?
A donation goes to a project. A supporter contribution covers the platform's costs, so others can donate at 100%. Both matter, but they are different.
Who runs and manages the pool?
Today the ChaCha team manages the pool. We will announce what form permanent management takes as soon as it is settled. Every movement can be viewed openly.
Do I get a donation receipt for my contribution?
No. Your contribution does not go to a project; it covers payment, network and platform costs so that donations arrive in full. A donation receipt is issued for donations to a project.
Can I be a supporter anonymously?
Yes. Your name only appears in the register if you want it to: pseudonymous, anonymous, or with your full name.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, at any time. What has already flowed into the pool stays there and keeps covering costs.
What happens if the pool isn't enough?
We keep our promise that 100% of your donation reaches the project. If the pool ever falls short, we will tell you before your donation is processed. You then have two options: your donation waits until new supporters cover the costs, or you cover the costs of your donation yourself. You can see the current state of the pool publicly at any time.
Does my contribution come with voting rights?
No, not yet. We are exploring a way for supporters to have a say in the future. Whether and when it happens has not been decided. For now, your contribution remains a voluntary contribution to costs and does not establish any voting, membership, or governance rights.
